Teach me how to find free food in a city

What an amazing first day in Lisbon! I met three fellow travellers in my hostel. We explored Belém together. One of these girls had a great interest in plants and trees and showed me how to find free food in a city. We were walking around Jerónimos Monastery and when I looked over my shoulder Sophia was up in a tree. When I asked ‘what the hell’ she was doing, she handed us some yellowish round fruit to try out.  Eat some “loquat“, she said. Then she explained it’s safe to eat. The only danger is… the monks may catch you.
